Fisher-Price Musical Digital Color Video Baby Monitor with Remote Control, 2.4 GHz – White/Grey
Ultimately you’re looking for something that audibly & visually monitors your baby. This is a pretty good product for that purpose. There is no biometric measurement, which would have made this a complete all-round product.
Camera: Colours are a little off during the ‘day’ mode as if the reg/green/blue is just off a little. Doesn’t affect the monitoring. As mentioned in other reviews, the camera will “freeze” for a second every 7 seconds or so but it’s not bad. The night mode is good – obviously black and white – no colour here and does need to be played around with to get the best display for you. For both you are able to change the contrast and brightness to make the video display appear as you wish. This is a can require playing with the balance to avoid the screen to appear without “vignetting” (darker around the outside) – especially in night mode. Consideration with the positioning of the camera and the settings will help with this. Video resolution is fine – you’re probably not going to be able to tell if you’re baby is breathing all the time, and the audio won’t necessarily pick it up. If you’re concerned about this, get something with biometrics.
Audio: We had a seperate audio unit previously and the audio pickup on this unit is as good. No qualms here.
Battery Life: Poor. Maybe 1 – 2 hours and that’s your lot. Would be nice if they had improved this somewhat.
Other features: Has the usual music/nature sounds, small orange night light settings which you can turn off from the monitor handset or the the unit itself.
Setting up the unit:
A bracket and cable tidy come with the unit. When setting up the unit to be placed on the wall it’s worthwhile having someone on hand to help you set up the position of the unit – and a baby or something babyesque to prove out that when they move around the camera is well positioned. Trying it out in night mode might be the best way to do this so you know worst case visual. Obviously the further away from the baby the wider the viewing, but also the less definition on t the baby.
In 2 weeks of having this unit we’ve been very pleased; the extra time setting up the unit on the bracket has paid off and no amount of wiggling around the crib goes undetected!

I love this product even though there was no feedback from. The set up was easy right out the box. The pictures and sound quality was crystal clear.Night vision mode is black and white, but during the day is in full color. It was a good purchase from CD warehouse….cheaper than anyone else out there.
I would love to give it a five star, but the battery life is very poor. It last only about 2hrs. Still good , but do not forget to plug in.

We purchased this video monitor about 8 months ago and unfortunately it is the worst electronic device I have ever owned. My concern is not with the battery life between charges, which is less than satisfactory, but rather with the way the device re-charges -it doesn’t. On a positive note, the customer service department at Fisher Price has been extremely helpful. First they replaced the battery at no charge, and when that didn’t work they replaced the remote device as well. However, none of these concessions managed to fix the problem. Now even while plugged in the remote beeps every two to three minutes indicating that it is has a low battery. This makes the device useless as a monitoring device during the night. Considering the high cost of this monitor it is extremely disappointing.

I have never left a review of any product (good or bad). I’m so disappointed in this product that I feel compelled to warn others. This is one of the worst monitors I’ve ever purchased. As a father of three and having owned other video monitors I feel qualified to make this claim. The picture is sub-standard, the coloring is constantly fluctuating, and to top it off, the video freezes like watching video on a dial-up internet connection.
At one moment I was watching my daughter sleeping (or so I thought) the next moment she disappeared and miraculously reappeared on the other side of the crib – talk about being freaked out. Fortunately, I quickly realized the video froze. The camera is approximately 5 to 6 feet from my daughter, as instructed in the manual. I find it difficult to figure out exactly what I’m looking at. Is it her head or the stuffed animal’s.
I’ve learned that video/audio monitors are less than perfect and they are typically good at either video or audio (not both). Well, not in this case, as bad as the video is, the audio is even worse. I can only hear my daughter if she speaks or cries “loudly”. You cannot hear normal speaking voices and you cannot hear other noise in the room (sound machines, creaks, etc.). While I don’t want normal noise to be amplified, I do want to be able to hear all sounds in the room and to have the ability to control it by volume. I tried turning the volume up, but the static only got louder and further drowned out other sounds. I’m confident that these problems are not due to interference, it’s unfortunately just not a very good product.
I’m disappointed Fisher Price would put their good name on a product like this. I have no idea if they read product reviews, but I would welcome the opportunity to be proven wrong by one of their representatives.
I’m shocked that the other 6 reviews praise the monitor with the exception of battery life. Perhaps there is something wrong with the one I purchased.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RV5OV7JFEXHSH This is a view of what is the typical experience with this monitor. In this video the monitor and the camera are in adjoining rooms yet there is only very choppy useless video, poor reception, glitches, bad sound, and very poor battery life. Don’t buy this monitor, try another one.
